The King of Pentacles

The Enlightenment Tarot King of Pentacles

In psychological Tarot readings, the court cards represent people involved in the querent’s challenge.

The King of Pentacles may represent an elderly and experienced, practical, patient, reliable man: serious or dull, principled or stubborn, selfish or materialistic.

About the Court Cards

The four levels of human expression apply to the court cards, too. Wand court cards portray willful people with strong intent and/or a spiritual inclination. Cup court cards represent creative, passionate, and romantic people with cultivated feelings. Sword court cards illustrate intelligent, discerning, and analytical people. Pentacle court cards personify practical, down-to-earth, realistic people.

Each Enlightenment Tarot court card displays a set of human character traits to ease the recognition of the people involved in the querent’s challenge.

The court cards correspond to the four astrological quarters:

Wands/fire: Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius
Cups/water: Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces
Swords/air: Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius
Pentacles/earth: Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn

The querent may identify the people involved in her challenge by considering their sun sign. But she needs to take this with a grain of salt, since the ascendant and the Chinese signs play a role, too.
